Pathways in Psychology - Monarch Level 2
Level 2 is an advanced weekend series for students who want to see how psychologists really work. Across four Saturday mornings at Monarch Health Centers, you’ll learn the professional side of the field from licensed clinicians: licensing, clinical notes, risk, ethics and supervision.
Your Next Step as as Psychologist
Level 1 shows you the many pathways psychology offers. Level 2 shows you what it takes to practise. Through case discussions, structured workshops and role-play, you’ll work on the skills clinicians use every day: assessing risk, writing clinical notes, handling ethical dilemmas and looking after your own wellbeing in a demanding career.
Practise like a professional, under Licensed Psychologists
Each Saturday has its own theme, so you build a full picture of professional practice over the four weeks. You’ll also take the lead yourself: Level 2 students design and deliver mindfulness sessions, and the best one is presented to the group.

What You’ll Learn
Map Your Career Pathway
Take psychometric career-path tests and match your results to psychology specialisations. Then learn how licensing works in the UAE (CDA, DHA and MOH), including the documents, exams and timelines involved.

Manage Risk with Confidence
Work through high-complexity case studies and use structured risk frameworks on a mock case. Learn de-escalation techniques for acute distress, and how clinicians repair the therapeutic relationship after a rupture.
Build a Sustainable Practice
Try expressive and dance therapy, lead a mindfulness practice yourself, and look at what keeps psychologists well over a long career: boundaries, supervision, and spotting the early signs of burnout.

Practise Ethically
Explore the codes of conduct that govern UAE practice, including confidentiality, consent and dual relationships, through real-world dilemmas. Then see how clinical supervision works by role-playing a supervision meeting.
